What is TYT Herbal Medicated Oil?
This is a multi-purpose herbal medicated oil or liniment which can be used to prevent mosquitoes, stop bleeding, relieve stomach wind and stomachache. It is also use to relieve muscle pain and joint pain. It can stop itchiness as well.
Why is the oil packed into a plastic bottle and not a glass bottle?
Our oil is 100% herbal oil which is mild and has no chemical reaction with plastic containers. Plastic is also lighter to carry around and will not break.
What is the oil made of?
TYT Herbal Medicated Oil is produced from 7 types of Chinese and Malaysian herbs boiled together with palm oil.
Will the oil stain clothes?
The green colour of the oil is the natural colour of the herbs and it will not stain clothes. If you get the oil on your clothes, just rinse out with some clothes detergent.
Can the oil can be used as a mosquito repellent?
Yes it can as one of the main ingredients is Lemon Grass ("Serai Wangi") which is known to repel mosquitoes. Rub some oil on your legs and arms before going to places with mosquitoes.
The oil does not have any heating sensation. Can it be used to relieve pain?
Any oil which gives you a heating sensation only relieves pain for the moment by dulling the pain with the heat. It does not actually relieve pain. Massage the affected area with this oil for a minimum 10-15 minutes to allow the proper flow of the blood and qi. It is better if the affected area is wrapped up overnight after the massage.
Can my baby use this oil?
Yes. The oil is mild enough for massage onto your baby's skin so it will not burn her skin compared to other oils with heating sensation.
Is this product new in the market?
No, it has been in the market for 50 years since October 1957. Only these few years has the company been expanding its market coverage.
Is this product halal?
Yes, this product has obtained Halal Certification from JAKIM.
How many sizes are there?
TYT Herbal Medicated Oil comes in 4 sizes: 30 ml, 60 ml, 120 ml and 58 ml (roll-on).
Why is the Roll-On price different from the bottle packaging?
The Roll-On is more expensive because of its roller packing. It is also more convenient to use compared to the other 2 economy packing (i.e. 60ml and 120ml). However, after you finish using the oil in Roll On packing, you may buy the economy packing to refill into the Roll-On.
Where can I buy this oil?
You can buy it from Hai-O chain stores, Jusco OTC counters, pharmacies, medical halls, baby care centres and mini markets .
Is this oil only for babies?
This oil is for the whole family from babies to the elderly.
Why is it that the oil becomes condensed when the weather is cold or during winter as I'm from a country with 4 seasons? It also besomes condensed even when it is under direct air conditioning.
This is due to our based oil which is edible palm oil. It contains the same characteristics as palm oil which you use for cooking. If you notice, your left over will condensed too if you put it in the fridge. All you need to do is just to put your oil near heater or at room temperature of about 20 degree and it will be diluted again.
When I don't use the oil for some time, I noticed the residue in the bottom of the bottle. Can I still use the oil?
Of course you can still use the oil. This is due to the natural herbs that we use to produce our oil. It is the fine particles of the herbs which only ensure you that our oil is made from original natural herbs.
What should I do when I noticed oil collected in the insert of my roll-on bottle?
Just simply swipe the oil from the insert with a cotton bud and use it. Do not waste the oil. The insert is a mechanism constructed to collect the oil to prevent external contemination if any, from conteminating the rest of the oil in the bottle when you close the cap.
